SANTA

Steve inherited his Santa legacy, and his Santa suits, from his old friend Joe. Joe was Santa all year around. He was fat and jolly, and his beard and hair was white as snow. He lived the part, even training other Santas. Joe was full of Giving.
But . . .Joe passed away.
At his wake, a nervous couple walked up to his widow. They said they needed to tell her a story about how Joe affected the lives of total strangers. A long time ago they were on a summer outing with their 8 year old son, who was dying of cancer. He wasn't expected to live out the year. Their son saw Joe passing by and called out, "Santa! Santa!"
Joe came over to the boy and handed him a quarter. Joe told the boy that this was a magic quarter; and if the boy made a wish on it, the wish would come true. The little boy said, "I want to be healthy!"
Joe winked at him and said, "You got it!"
Joe went on about his business, while the parents looked skeptically at each other. They had given up all hope long ago.
The little boy said looked up at them and said, "I'm going to get better! Santa said so!"
Well, you can guess the rest of the story.
The boy, believing in Santa, knew he would get well- because Santa said he would.
The cancer went into remission.
The boy, now a teen, still wears the quarter on a chain around his neck.

Joe always said, "When you quit believing, you quit receiving."
